Jakarta, July 19, 2024 – The Association of Indonesian Port Business Entities (ABUPI) successfully held a webinar entitled “Port Service Tariff Determination” on Thursday, July 18, 2024. The event, which took place from 14.00 to 16.00 WIB, presented Mauritz Sibarani as the main speaker.
Port services are services provided at the port for ships, passengers and goods. For this service, the Port Business Entity (BUP) charges tariffs to service users. This webinar aims to discuss in more depth the types, structure, classes, and mechanisms for determining port service tariffs.
In his presentation, Mauritz Sibarani explained in detail the various aspects involved in determining port service tariffs. He discussed the types of port services that include services to ships, passengers, and goods. In addition, he also explained the tariff structure applied by BUP, as well as tariff groups based on the type of service and capacity of service users.
Webinar participants consisting of various groups, ranging from port entrepreneurs, terminal managers, to academics, actively discussed and asked questions about the tariff setting mechanism. This interactive discussion resulted in various perspectives and solutions regarding the challenges of setting fair and competitive tariffs.
This webinar is expected to provide a deeper understanding to port industry players regarding the determination of service tariffs, as well as to encourage the development of a fair and competitive tariff mechanism.
