Jakarta, March 17, 2023.
In the midst of global competition, port services are required to provide services with convenience, acceleration and competitive costs, so the utilization of information technology is unavoidable.
The Indonesian Port Business Entity Association – ABUPI has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Krakatau Bandar Samudera for the Port digitalization program through the Port Community System concept. The signing was held on the sidelines of ABUPI’s 2023 National Work Meeting at Menara Kadin, Jakarta, on Friday, March 17, 2023.
The signing of this MoU is ABUPI’s support for Digital Transformation in the port sector, where the starting point is collaboration both in terms of business and the latest technological innovations.
“Along with the rapid development of technology and competitive business competition, it is hoped that ABUPI member Port Business Entities can utilize this information technology as an effort to encourage their ports to compete globally by providing more efficient, effective and transparent services,” said Aulia Febrial Fatwa, as Chairman of ABUPI.
“ABUPI wants to play an active role in creating a Single Platform ecosystem for port service users, the long-term goal is to support Digital Transformation carried out by the Government in the National Logistics Ecosystem (NLE) order”, Febri added.
“The Port Community System, in principle, is a logistics ecosystem that integrates the traffic of goods from the arrival of the ship until it arrives at the warehouse, with this system it can improve services, save time, and save operational costs, thus making businesses competitive,” said Akbar Djohan, President Director of PT Krakatau Bandar Samudera, who is also a member of ABUPI.
The signing of this MoU is the basis for carrying out a study or feasibility study to build and develop port digitalization according to the needs of members and stakeholders.
